Buffalo Regional History Collection A wealth of information can be found in this collection, housed at the Monroe Fordham Regional History Center in the Classroom Building, with the most extensive being the Organizations section. This collection includes local companies, groups and unions whom allowed the MFRHC to microfilm their papers for preservation. Many local Churches also permitted the Center to microfilm and, most recently, digitize their books that include marriage and birth records. The two newest collections to the Center’s website are the Afro-American Historical Association of the Niagara Frontier and the Civil War. The AAHANF section contains the organizations papers from 1972 to 1992 on microfilm. In the near future, the MFRHC will be digitizing the Associations papers from 1992 to the present. The Civil War section contains data bases, regimental biographies and more, regarding information of local African Americans who enlisted in the Civil War. There are prominent local individuals who served proudly as soldiers in the war. A collection of microfilmed personal papers of well-known local individuals can be found in the section title People that includes the Rev. Dr. J. Edward Nash, and Frank Lloyd Wright. The Monroe Fordham Regional History Center also houses Multimedia, Faculty & Student Papers, Magazines & Publications and Biographical documents. The Buffalo Vertical Files section is a vast collection of newspaper and magazine articles, pamphlets, brochures and much more.
